Pixar hasn’t let me down yet. This uplifting (pardon the puns) movie puts new life into animated cinema by bridging the gaps between the icon hero and the heroes in our everyday lives. Dreams take to flight as “Carl Fredricksen” (voice of Ed Asner) a retired balloon vendor discovers it’s never too late to pursue a dream. As fate would have it his journey is brimming with clever mishaps and lovable stowaways. There are only a few moments when the storytelling may be confusing for a younger audience but it quickly recovers. With so many choices at the box office this family film can warm the coldest of hearts and even lend some positive life lessons for all ages. Expect tears, laughter and an uplifted spirit when you catch “UP” at the movies.
