Kurt Cobain would be 43 on February 20th if he had managed survived his environment and were still with us. We still remember his work not only for its distinctive sound, but also because, although rock bands have come and gone, nothing really big has happened since Nirvana, since everything has been pretty much just incidental in the music world.  Yes, Nirvana was the last big musical news in the past two decades, whether we like it or not.

The new collaborative album from Mexican-American PNS of the Molemen and Chicano Alex Zavala of Dark Time Sunshine should really be regarded as two separate and distinct records. As the record is actually a record (you see youngsters, there used to be this thing called vinyl), it plays like two distinct personalities and two different vibes. Indeed, the difference of styles by the Chicago-based producers is clear; while continuity is such that you see how they should be on the same release.
