In February, Lahoma Sue Smith, 36, of Okla., was arrested for prostitution after police found her, blouse open, with a man in the passenger seat. She had arranged a deal with Shawnee Bryan, 48, in which she would exchange oral sex not for cash–but for a $30 case of chips the Frito-Lay worker had in the back of his truck. After pleading no contest last week, Smith was ordered to pay a $1,142 fine.

Caroline Maria McNeal of Hundington, Pa., was charged Thursday with 29 counts of unlawful use of a computer and 29 counts of tampering with public records. The high school secretary is accused of having used colleague’s passwords to raise her daughter Brittany McNeal’s grades and test scores. She is also accused of lowering other students’ grades to improve her daughter’s class standing. Brittany graduated in 2008 and is charged with no wrongdoing.

Kimberley Vlaeminck of Belgium is suing the tattoo artist who inscribed 56 stars of various sizes on the 18-year-old’s face. The girl says she had asked for only three stars, and that she fell asleep during the procedure, waking up to half of her face covered in ink. Rouslan Toumaniantz, the artist, says the girl did agree to the bigger design, but became upset when her father and boyfriend reacted negatively. Toumaniantz has agreed to pay half the cost of the laser surgery needed to remove 53 of the tattoos from Vlaeminck’s face to avoid making a customer unhappy.

Cowlitz County law enforcement took a 41-year-old Canadian man into custody around 8:30 p.m. Thursday after he drove at least three miles in reverse on I-5 North near Castle Rock. Deputies approached the rented car when it stopped in the middle of the lanes. The man laughed and refused to exit the vehicle; deputies broke a window and used a Taser on the driver, who was detained for mental evaluation.

Though the Illinois couple was diagnosed with H1N1 (aka swine flu) just 48 hours before the ceremony, Ilana Jackson and Jeremy Fierstien wed June 14 in front of family and friends. Last-minute changes had to be made: The bride and groom wore surgical masks and latex gloves and maintained a 10-foot distance from guests to protect them from the H1N1 virus. Ilana Branda, a long-time friend of Jackson, said the wedding favors were hand sanitizers.
