Which country should the U.S. invade next?

The Political Finger

finger-AMERICAN_ARTIST_BEN_MURPHYNo not that finger, the other one. When fingers start getting pointed I often look at the people doing the pointing rather than their intended target. If you are busy blaming someone else, it is likely you are not busy looking for a solution. I have a motto I wish more people would adopt, “I’ll take the blame, if I can have the credit.” What does that mean? It means, "let’s get past the blame-game, and get on with the solutions." So, once I take the blame, I also get the credit once the issue is resolved. Simple enough, right?

So, what is the problem? Let’s take a look. Most fingers are pointing at health care. Great! You might say, “I like the ways things are now,” or “This system needs to change.” First, place the blame so we can be done with that step. Blame me, Che Devine, I am at fault for the health care provided (or not provided) to every American today. There, was that so difficult? Now, how do I resolve this? First, I have to identify that there is a problem. Get to the basics. Does the health care system in America work? Who does it work for and who does it not work for? How does it work? Is there a better system in practice somewhere else, or even in theory? How can I make a difference?

Now, some of you are chomping at the bit for me to answer these questions. Guess what? Too bad. I may not have to answer these questions, but that doesn’t mean I don’t have solutions. I believe there are three things needed to be in place for the success of any business, relationship or mutual collaboration. First, and the most important, is communication. Is there complete and honest communication? If not where does it break down and how can we fix it? The second is accountability. Who is accountable for what? Is there potential for corruption which needs to be addressed? The last important idea which needs to be applied is fairness. The scales have to balance out, or the shouting will never stop (nor should it).

Through this viewpoint, what state do you see the current health care system? Is there honest and clear communication? Does the level of accountability meet your standards? Is it fair?

Another problem in America (which by no means do I exclude myself from this list), is a rise of apathy when it comes to getting involved in the knowledge of what we should care about. Instead, we go with what we are told and have an emotional reaction to that. That is so much easier, isn’t it? We see something or hear something and get involved with our anger or fear (so often those are one in the same). Do me a favor the next time you have that hate building up inside of you because of something you are witnessing or becoming a part of… Step back and take a better look around you. Seek the answers for yourself. If then you are moved to an emotional response, use that energy in a positive way to make a difference.

Let me help in some small way. Here are some links of other articles about health care:
