Dear Dr. Loderrama,

Understanding that you speak English, I write to you in what is my native tongue, although my name betrays my idiom.

I was born in the U.S.A. some twenty and something years ago, and I can prove that by the lack of an injection scar on my right and left shoulders given to me in a Mexican hospital as if I had been branded like an animal. My friends all have such scars because I try to hang out with the real Mexicanos who embody the culture that most of us can't even appreciate because of the cultural divides our continent between the North and the South, a divide that determines the way that we see each other, regardless of the color of our skin, the coarseness of our hair and the closedness of our minds.

Dr. Loderrama, I long to embrace the traditions of my heritage, yet I feel that I am a slave to the culture in which I have chosen to "assimilate", and I feel like a complete stranger amidst my own "people". What do you recommend?

Querido Doktor,

Estoi en una situación bien dificulto porque vivo en un rancho, pero siento que estoy echa por cosas mas grandes. Cada mañana k me miro en el espejo, me veo como el estrella de películas k me ciento, muy diferente a los otros vaqueros de por aki.

Aunke trabajo todo el día en el campo, se que estoy destinado para otras cosas, pero lo veo muy dificulto lograr mis aspiraciones por mi situasion. ¿Algun consejo?

Como psicólogo, mi instinto es enfocar en tu Complejo de Narciso como el fundamento de tus problemas, pero como hombre, mi toma es diferente. Todos tenemos sueños, pero somos pocos que realmente los vamos a lograr. Aunque existimos los genios, Ya no te engañes, Pancho. El mundo también necesita peones, así que te debes de considerar afortunado con tu humilde puesto. Mientras no sigues tus sueños ridículos, siempre tendrás trabajo.
