Which country should the U.S. invade next?

Time for a little time out

Dear Readers,

Before anything else, thank you for joining us on our journey. It has been over a year since we began this adventure, and now we feel that this stage of the expedition has come to an end. And now, we need to take a break. A time out. A little R&R. This does not mean that our trip is over, just that we need to take some time off and regroup for a little while. Maybe a long while. Thanks again for coming along for the ride, and we’ll see you again some time somewhere down the road.

Sin-cerely,

El Diablito

Queridos Lectores,

Atentamente,

El Diablito

Arizona Strikes Again!

jan

The media has been dominated by the anniversary of 9/11 recently, with tough-guy mustachioed pastors threatening to burn up all the got dammed kew-rans the state of Florida has ever seen.  Had it not beed for this maniac, the world might have seen yet another astonishing feat of discrimination coming out of the state of Arizona.  The fires of Senate Bill 1070 have cooled to some degree, but the Grand Canyon State will not give up in its tireless pursuit to marginalize every Latino it can cast its redneck gaze upon.  The battlefield this go-round are the classrooms of the state, and the familiar victim are Spanish-speaking students.

War on Immigration’s Moving Target

border

Last week I moved from sunny San Diego, CA, to muggy Mobile, AL. (The things we do for love.) We chose the quickest route, and took I-10 the whole trip. Along the way, I got a really good look at how the country is spending its money to “protect our borders.” 3,500 miles and twice as many Border Patrol vehicles later, we arrived at our new home only to be met by more Border Patrol vehicles. We thought we had seen the last of them with the Texas border, but we thought wrong. It seems that Mobile is a popular drop off spot for new illegals. Daily, you can find men and women hanging out in a parking lot near the freeway looking for work.
